Claire Wallwork
Claire Wallwork is an Auckland-based, full-time artist known for her bold reimagining of botanical forms. Curvy, interwoven and deliciously sensual, Claire’s style is unapologetically feminine and uniquely her own, expressing her deep connection to our magnificent planet. Nature provides a metaphoric and often bigger picture perspective encapsulating spiritual themes that invite the observer to challenge the way they view themselves and their place in the world. By creating beauty from the ugly issues facing humanity, Claire’s contemporary modernist works inspire positive change.
Represented by Flagstaff Gallery, she was one of only 105 artists to be invited to exhibit at the inaugural Art in the Park in July. Her work has been featured by the Feminist Art Museum and Aotearoa, NZ Art Magazine, as well as through various shows locally.
